Did you know that in order for there to be a Friday the 13th, the month needs to begin on a Sunday? I spent the day playing Lucky Witch slot and trying to test the boundaries of this supposedly unlucky day...
There’s plenty of superstition surrounding this date. Historically it was considered to be an unlucky amalgam; references from the 19th century supposed that the number 13 was unlucky and that Friday is an unlucky day. The number twelve is considered to be the number of completeness in numerology; twelve apostles, twelve signs of the zodiac, twelve hours of the clock and therefore thirteen is a transgression of that completeness. Friday is also considered to be unlucky; not a good day to begin new projects – as we all know when we’re itching to get out of the office!
But since I spent my day playing the Lucky Witch slot games I didn’t find it to be bad at all. In fact, I won £50 instead – not a bad take since I only put £10 down and was playing at an extremely small coin value. I didn’t want to press my luck though, especially on Friday the 13th in case the superstition turned out to be true after all, so I finished up and cashed out!
